Meet Allan Stevo

Allan Stevo attended the University of Illinois on a full scholarship, taking with him two degrees. He lectured in British Literature at the well-regarded, 400 year old Lyceum in Bratislava, Slovakia. In his free time he became involved in and also organized a number of better government projects. In 2004 he was sent by Democracy Watch International and invited by IDC-Moscow as an international election observer to the Russian Presidential Elections. Later that same year, he helped train Iraqi NGO leaders. In addition to British Literature, Allan is well read in commodities and monetary policy, and has covered events such as Bush and Putin's 2006 summit in addition to other conferences, such as those organized by OPEC. Throughout much of 2007, he organized a network of better government groups throughout Europe, and campaigned full-time on behalf of a US presidential candidate in the first 3 months of 2008. He has lectured, traveled, and written extensively. Allan Stevo is the author of three books on culture and politics.

Why am I running

As voters, we have become dissatisfied with the options we are left with on the day of the election. Too often, we have spent our time voting for the lesser of two evils, rather than anyone whose ideas truly inspire us. Sometimes, we just vote against someone who's just really terrible, holding our noses and saying "Anyone would be better than that other guy!" It's a disappointing state of affairs that the two parties have left us in. Can't a country like ours with its human capital and resources, come up with something better than the hucksters we have in Congress? I don't know. Once they get elected, it seems to only take a few months before they are shaped into a Washington politician. It's time for us to either stop caring, or to get more involved. I'm not ready to stop caring. Are you? Please take some time to learn more about my ideas for a better government.
