Independent for Congress in the 10th District of Illinois

Issues

Our country, the greatest country in the world, has lost its way.

We need to understand that we don't win hearts and minds with our powerful weapons. Our idea of freedom from government has become skewed. Most personally, frightening to me, after my years in the former Soviet Bloc, is that we're losing our sense of personal responsibility.

Smaller government, not bigger government. Constitutional government, not government by the whims of politicians. A more humble foreign policy.

I'm running for these reasons. This is the direction these United States should take.

Constitutional Government

Let’s reinstate the U.S. Constitution as the sacred covenant between the people and the government that it was meant to be. This is the reason why the people’s representatives take an oath to uphold it. I would take this oath and treat it as my highest duty, whether or not that is the easiest and quickest way. (more...)

Greater Freedom in Healthcare

Let’s allow people the right to choose the health care plan, hospital, doctor, and prescription drug plan that is best for them. ALL patients should be free to negotiate with ALL doctors for services and prices. ALL doctors should be free to negotiate with ALL insurance companies for services and prices. ALL healthcare costs should be 100% tax deductible. ALL adults should be free to use ALL medicine and supplements that they choose to use. More restrictive legislation is not the answer. (more...)

Fairer Mortgage and Lending

Let’s reform the monetary system. Washington bailout after Washington bailout of irresponsible corporations on and off Wall Street has left our financial system in ruins. The market must be allowed to correct itself. The homeowner has been left in a condition of falling property values and rising property taxes. (more...)

More Effective Foreign Policy

Let’s reinstitute a more humble foreign policy, where the United States uses all tools we have and not just our military. Sometimes you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. (more...)

More Honest Veterans Affairs

Let’s end the bureaucratic runaround for veterans’ benefits. Veterans should be allowed to receive disability pay and pension pay simultaneously, just like other government employees. Our proud veterans deserve to be treated by our government like the heroes that they are. (more...)

Prevention, Protection, & Compassion on Illegal Immigration

Let’s stop ignoring the issue of illegal immigration. There should be no amnesty for those who have broken the law. We need to secure our borders and stop giving incentives to illegal immigrants, because those encourage people to enter the U.S. illegally. Should any of us have to be denied services and pay higher taxes because Washington refuses to address this problem? American citizens, legal immigrants, and children of illegal immigrants are all made victims by Washington ignoring this issue. (more...)

Limitation of Presidential Powers

Let’s limit the abuse of presidential powers. It is the job of the Congress to write laws. It is the job of the President to see that those laws are followed. The President simply must do his job and enforce the laws. The issue of illegal immigration is one example of the President blatantly disobeying the law. (more...)

National Defense that means National Defense

Let’s protect the borders of the United States and let’s protect Americans. Our government leaders need to behave in a way that diminishes “blowback” outside of the United States. (more...)

Stop Looting Social Security

Let’s STOP Congress from looting money from the “Social Security Trust Fund.” Just like it was from 1930-1984, we should return to having NO TAXES ON SOCIAL SECURITY. Funding Social Security and allowing the young to opt out of the system should be a priority. We need to keep the promises we’ve made and stop making promises we can’t keep. (more...)

Tax Relief and Tax Simplification

Let’s keep more of our own money. I will NEVER vote to increase spending. I will NEVER vote to increase debt. I will NEVER vote to increase taxes. No matter how rich or poor someone is, the 535 voting members of Congress should leave us with more of our own money to use as we see fit. Congress has clearly lost touch with the hardworking, overburdened, and underappreciated taxpayer. (more...)

Second Amendment

The right to keep and bear arms is an individual right that has existed since long before the writing of the U.S. Constitution. The U.S. Congress has no authority to in any way infringe upon this right. (more...)
